This link takes you through GE Hitachi's efforts to make the case for the use of PRISM Reactors to 'burn' our plutonium, depleted uranium and spent nuclear fuel stockpiles. We have enough of this Energy Resource  to power the UK for 500 years:  The Nuclear 'Waste' Dilemma.

  1. Seems better to use this to provide your electricity, and to use CO2 and hydrogen extracted from the seawater used to cool the plants to synthesise your hydrocarbon fuel requirements as well. You wouldn't need ridiculous wars in the Middle East to safeguard your oil supply, or need to truckle to Putin for gas.
